Missed out on only three games this year that could have had a chance of showing up here: waiting on the PS5 Cyberpunk patch, ran out of time to play The Pathless, and hit a wall on my interest in Yakuza 3-5 so no Yakuza 7 (incoming PS5 patch too anyways). Oh well, let this be synonymous with what a thoroughly disappointing, yet occasionally adequate year this has been. This time we are going with one of the kaizo classics from a few years back. Storks Apes and Crocodiles (Super Mario World ROM Hack) Another year, another SMW ROM hack. Still didn't take me for all that MH4G or XX did, but I had a good time knocking the teeth out of idiot monsters for a couple hundred hours or so.ģ. Monster Hunter World Iceborne Better than vanilla world. Among Us Yeah, ok, i'm on board with this poo poo too.Ĥ. This is one of the only retro-inspired games that actually feels like a real retro game.ĥ. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 Dropped on us randomly. A+++ experience would recommend for anyone quarantined at homeĦ.

Skyrim Wasted like another 150 hours on this poo poo this year, although a good 80 or so of those were spent installing mods and trying to get things to not break. Same start time and end time too.Īnd yeah patch 5.3 was absolutely the loving PERFECT way to end it. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to try it since it's an MMO and all but it's also just an extremely good Final Fantasy and I think the free trial goes all the way to Heavensward. Shadowbringers has maybe the best writing in the series, the music is incredible, I love the world they've built, they've somehow made my dumbass god killing white mage chef dark knight MMO silent protagonist (pictured above in a very carefully cropped image) into a real character I'm invested in, the characters, the amount of love that goes into the FF references, I love healing, triple triad, it's all just so good and we need to support Tataru, Y'shtola, Urianger, Alphinaud and Alisaie I was already having fun in the level 1-50 ARR section despite all the warnings you see anytime XIV comes up (it's apparently better now) and from Heavensward I was totally hooked. It took something like 500 hours for me to reach the most recent patch in I think September (5.3, which was really just the perfect ending point for my catch up) and man what an amazing journey. I wanted to play it for a long time and seeing Shadowbringers on so many lists here last year finally got me to create an account in January. Help Im Alive posted: #1 - Final Fantasy XIV
